Pro-Series Post Guards Applied to 5" Vinyl Posts
"I ordered white, 6" Tall Pro-Series Post Guard, metal post protectors for my new vinyl fence that has 5" support fence posts. They where easy to install and included all the necessary screws (a big plus). HELPFUL HINT: If installing a new fence (as I did), I recommend attaching the guards to the posts BEFORE inserting post in the ground and connecting the panels, as it is much easier apply the guards and enables access to all four sides when securing them. I could not be any more pleased with how they look and worth the investment knowing that my vinyl posts will be safe from any potential damage while using the weed eater. Kudos to the customer service for their knowledge of the product and the time they took to answer all my various questions before placing my order."

"After 8 years of weed wacking, my mailbox post was chewed up and looked terrible. I patched it with wood putty, repainted, and added the 6-inch Fence Armor brown bracket at the base of the post. It looks great and will protect the post from future damage. Thanks for making this bracket in brown. Home Depot only carries your black bracket, but brown looks much better with a brown post."

I have a Pavillon that a creature is eating bottom of post, would this deter them and is 6in high the only height. I believe the posts are 6x6
Yes Fence Armor will do the trick for you those creatures will not be able to get through. If you need it taller just stack them. Cheers

on the 5.50" X 5.50" covers its mentioned in parentheses that it is 5.50 x 3.5 which is actually what I need. Its for a play set. the post are 5.5x3.5 on the one end
Fence Armor is telescopic; as the two Fence Armor segments slide into each other, we can accommodate rectangular lumber, so the critical measurement is the most prominent face of the post, in this case, 6". So if your posts measure a true 6" x 4" then you should use our 6" x 6" Fence Armor. Of course the same applies to 5.5” x 5.5” it will fit 5.5” x 3.5” posts. Install by placing the 6" side on the face of the post; then, the two sides will slide into each other, creating your 4" side measurement. Fasten the face sides, then use our self-drilling screws to secure the sides drilling right through the mating Fence Armor into the post.
The 6.00" x 6.00" (6.0" x 4.0") post protector... Is it REALLY 6.00 inches wide by 6.00 inches wide and 4.0 inches tall by a measuring tape? I have a square mailbox post that is 6 inches by 6 inches using a measuring tape. I want to make sure since most of what I see on the web is 6x6 but the measurements are actually 5.5" x 5.5"
Hi Jeremy, good question our 6” x 6” is really a true 6”. And our Pro-Series which you selected is 6” tall.
Are the colored covers galvinized steel?
Yes all Fence Armor is American Galvanized Steel then we powder coat over top.
