Designed for CAP CLAW™ and Existing Post Caps
Fence Armor® Decorative Finials are designed to work seamlessly with CAP CLAW™ Universal Fit Post Caps and can also retrofit many existing wood, vinyl, composite, aluminum and metal post caps.
With CAP CLAW™: Remove the center fastener and thread the finial directly into the existing ¼"-20 threaded opening. No drilling is required.
With other post caps: Drill a ¼" clearance hole through the cap, insert the threaded finial stud and secure it underneath using the included mounting nut.
Tighten gently by hand and do not over-tighten.

Installation
Fence Armor® Decorative Finials install on CapClaw™ Post Caps or most existing post caps.
Option 1 — Installing on Fence Armor® CAP CLAW™ Post Caps
Fence Armor® CAP CLAW™ Universal Post Caps are pre-designed to accept decorative finials.
Installation is simple:
- Remove the center ¼”-20 screw from the top of the CAP CLAW™ Post Cap
- Thread the decorative finial directly into the existing threaded opening
- Tighten gently by hand; do not over-tighten. Zinc is a soft metal.
For additional security, you can also install the included ¼”-20 nut underneath the cap.
No drilling required.
Option 2 — Installing on Existing or Other Manufactured Post Caps
Most existing post caps can also be upgraded with Fence Armor® Decorative Finials.
Installation steps:
- Mark the center of the post cap
- Drill a ¼-inch clearance hole
- Insert the threaded finial stud
- Secure using the included ¼”-20 mounting nut
