How long does RotGuard™ last?

Can you use RotGuard™ on concrete or metal posts?
RotGuard™ is specifically designed for wooden posts but can also be used on metal posts, especially in environments with acidic or contaminated soil where corrosion is a concern. It is not typically needed for concrete posts.
Why doesn’t RotGuard™ cover the bottom of the post?
RotGuard™ is designed to protect the critical ground-line zone, typically the top 6–8 inches below grade and slightly above grade. Below that depth, there’s not enough oxygen or favorable temperature for rot or corrosion to occur, so additional coverage isn’t necessary.
Do I need a torch or heat gun to install RotGuard™?
No! RotGuard™ uses a self-adhesive membrane that requires no heat, torching, or special tools. Simply peel, wrap, overlap, and press firmly to install.
Can I use RotGuard™ on posts that are already in the ground?
RotGuard™ must be applied before installation, while the post is still out of the ground. It wraps directly around the post to create a protective barrier before burial.
