PostSaver® +PLUS Ground-Line Protection Sleeve (40-Year Guarantee)
SAV6P
PostSaver +PLUS is a contractor-grade ground-line protection sleeve designed to extend the life of wood fence posts by isolating the critical soil-line zone where rot most often begins.
Engineered for commercial and heavy-duty installations, the sleeve creates a barrier between wood and soil to reduce moisture exposure and slow the biological processes that cause decay.
Includes a 40-year manufacturer's guarantee against ground-line rot when installed according to guidelines.
⚠️ Limited Availability
We have a small remaining inventory of PostSaver +PLUS sleeves. Once this batch is sold out, it will no longer be stocked.
Our in-house RotGuard™ ground-line protection system offers modern polymer technology and contractor-friendly installation without heat or torching.
Key Benefits |
✔ Long-Term Ground-Line Protection
Creates a barrier between soil and wood at the most common rot zone.
✔ Commercial & Agricultural Applications
Often used for pole barns, commercial fencing, and structural wood posts.
✔ Moisture Barrier System
Enhanced coating helps reduce water penetration and wet/dry cycling that contributes to decay.
✔ Extended Sleeve Coverage
28-inch sleeve designed to isolate the vulnerable ground-contact zone, leaving approximately 6 inches above grade.
✔ Supports New Installations and Retrofits
Can be used during new construction or retrofit methods for existing posts.
Why Installers Use PostSaver +PLUS
PostSaver +PLUS sleeves are commonly used on installations where long-term ground contact protection is required, including agricultural fencing and structural wood posts.
For best long-term results, many installers combine ground-line protection with:
• Wood care products for above-grade surface protection
• Post pulling tools for replacement and retrofit work
• Professional staining systems to maintain wood appearance and durability
How PostSaver +PLUS Protects Posts
Ground-line decay occurs where wood, soil moisture, oxygen, and biological activity meet. This area — commonly referred to as the critical zone- is where most fence posts eventually fail.
PostSaver +PLUS sleeves act as a physical barrier, isolating this vulnerable section of the post from direct soil contact and prolonged moisture exposure.
By reducing wet/dry cycling and biological activity at the ground line, the sleeve helps slow the decay process and extend the service life of wooden fence posts.
Installation Overview
For New Posts
-
Prepare the post hole according to your normal installation method.
-
Slide the 28-inch sleeve over the post so approximately 6 inches remain above ground level.
-
Position the sleeve at the ground-line transition zone.
-
Set the post in soil or concrete as usual.
-
Backfill and ensure the post remains plumb.
Retrofit Installation
For posts already installed, common retrofit methods include:
• Excavating around the base and sliding the sleeve over the trimmed post
• Using split / wrap-around sleeve systems where full removal is not possible
• Professional Pro-Wrap retrofit installation
