"Have qnty 12 of the 4x4 to install and after getting the ends of the pressure treated wood wet with deck preservative, to reduce chances of wood splitting while hand sledge hammering the titan deck anchor in, ...significant splits appeared in the wood anyway. So I removed enough of the wood core after hole sawing so that only 1/2" of the titan deck anchor had to be hammered in this eliminating the splits in the wood posts"

Fundamentally fabulous idea

"Deck-tread mounting is ideal considering the degree of structural upgrade requirements for side-mounting/rim-joist mounting of the posts. The fact that the engineering reports are a available for review on Titan building products website only reinforced the confidence in the product experienced after at test-mount. This anchor worked like a charm. From the hole-saw pilot through the sledge-drive (I will be purchasing the sledge-drive metal disc aide advertised with my main purchase; keeping the sledge-drive forces off of the anchors welds is a wise move.), the process went as the instructions suggested they would occur; the pearl in the instructions of keeping the sledge-drive-end of the post's wood damp worked perfectly with my use of the water-based, metal/paint direct-contact compliant mildicide that I used to pre-treat the post, prior to mounting the anchor. Innovative and needed product. Glad I discovered it"

"I installed my new railing with the Titan wood post anchor. They were easier to install in the pressure treated 4 x 4's than anticipated. The railings are also very secure. As anticipated the Trex post sleeve skirts do not fit over the Titan anchors. We used the two piece metal skirts on the Titan anchors and then installed the Trex post skirts above the two piece metal skirts - looks great ! The nice thing about the Titan anchors is they come in stainless for coastal applications"
