Hi my name is Karen and I just want to say I got this beautiful fence by Davis Fencing but once upon ordering it Brianna was telling me about the additives that would help me along with the longevity of the fence and we started from the bottom up and we went with the Postsaver Sleeves which will protect it from rotting out of the ground and they're nice little sleeves that go on the bottom of the post and they're heated on and then we moved on to when you use a weed whacker so we got these little Demi covers and they go around like little collars around the bottom of my fence and that prevents us from just chopping it up and then so that the rain that doesn't come through the top of my post we put the post caps on and then Brianna came to me and said that “Hey Al made this new product to make our caps a little decorative and nicer and give it a little jazzy up and they've came out with these new little finials there were six to choose from”. We chose this nice little one here because it reminded us of a little flower and it's attractive it looks nice it gives a whole different look to our fence and what's great about it is if we get tired of that one we can always change it to another one and then at the front of our gate we put this little guy on here he's an Acorn and he we can put a little flag in there but we're really happy with the product we now have to move on to the last stage because we just found out they've got a wonderful stain and our stain isn't holding very well so I guess we're going to have to get a hold of Al through Fence Armor and get our stain done on the rest of our decking so it's a great product I would encourage you to buy it and it just adds your, adds to your fence from the ground right up to the top.

Hi, I’m Nicole from Davis Fences and I would like to talk to you today about Post Caps. Often times customers spend a lot of time deciding on the style of fence they like and they often times overlook the Post Cap, which can bring a lot of style to the design of your fence. Today I am going to show you some Fence Armor products, it is a new product available to us, and these are their Post Caps. Here is their standard Post Cap and what you have the option of with these Finials, there is 6 different styles that you can choose from. And they are very simple to install, they just click over top of your fence post, but then if you want to change your Finial out, very simple you just unscrew it. You can purchase new ones from Fence Armor and reapply it. So if you are like me and like to change your fence post caps like you like to change your hair, it is easy to do.

My name is Andy, owner of Yorkshire Fence & Deck. I started in England six years ago, had the opportunity to emigrate to Vancouver and here we are and I brought my expertise and trying to rewrite the wheel in BC with all our fencing. Yeah we do prefab cedar fencing, hand built and customized to most customers preferences. Composite, vinyl and soon to be aluminum. Basically at Christmas last year decided to try to tap in and find a product that protected the posts, customers were always asking can we do extra concrete we do extra this, so let's just kill that and get to the problem and that's where I found Al at Fence Armor and it's been great ever since. 99% of customers are going with it, it’s protecting from above ground and now below ground with the Postsaver and it's been it's been fantastic and customers are spreading and now I'm getting educated by them when I go to estimates. They're asking all these these post protectors these post protectors so the news is spreading. So Andy, what made you want to find a solution for them? I wanted to be different I want to be above everybody else and when we build things we do it once and once only. This product adds to that philosophy. So we're people complaining about problems with the bottoms of their post? Oh yeah yeah, constantly especially on shraddah’s like this, constantly chip-ins from you know weed whackers people who don't really care they just weed whack to town. Also rot that's one of the main issues in BC similar to England it's a rain forest it's all soft mush rain rain rain we got ants, carpenter ants are a big issue as well so this helps protect so it's a double double whammy. Perfect, and the wood, what type of wood do you use? We use mainly cedar western red cedar, old-growth and new growth and pressure-treated there there are three well the two two means for what we do I mean this is new growth cedar so this is anything up to sixty years old it's more of a yellow shade than a western that's the old growth and we can show you that on the other sides. Beautiful so then when you're quoting Fence Armor now what type of customer are you looking for? To be honest there's no target everybody's accepting it from the entry level who just wants to fix it and sell all the way to the top. So does it differentiate you from the other guys? Yes because nobody is even interested in installing extras they just want to turn up do the fence, walk away. What would you say is the biggest problem in fencing in BC? No post protection. Wow. No post protection, there’s wood fences everywhere no post protection, fences only falls over when the post give and that's the issue. That’s the issue. So you use it, the double, you try to sell both the Fence Armor and the Postsaver. Yeah we do we aim to do both because we're protecting above and below. Below I cannot control so I'd rather just protect it and it's done and above ground we see it and it's good. We personally prefer the 6-inch Pro Series because we've got extra on top. So you put half in two inches in the ground? Yeah we go four inches above because the rules are different for out here we have different grounds so we go four inches above two inches in the concrete and we put a nice chamfered bevel then everything underneath is protected.

Hey it's Mike here again I'm still at Home Depot and I'm here with one of our great contractors Davis Fences just to share a little bit and Justin how have you enjoyed the product, has it made a difference in landscaping and installation. Well with our customers it has given us another great option and to give them to protect the length of their fence up that they're paying a lot of money for and it's just been an absolute great product. I've been trimming in the grass cutting industry for over 20 years now and I ruined my fair share of posts for fences and this stuff and it's just unstoppable I just breaks the line not even a scratch on the stuff and you're post. Absolutely so your customers really see the value. Oh yeah. In having the product. Because nobody wants to come back and replace the a single post that's been ruined way ahead of its lifetime. Okay well thank you very much Justin for sharing today. Again Davis Fence and we're here Fence Armor.

Fence Armor has done a great job in supporting the lawn care YouTube community, including events like I had, the 2018 Lawn Care Life Conference. Fence Armor supported that and sponsored that event so let's talk about Fence Armor. Hey Lawn Care Nation, in this video we're gonna take a first look at Fence Armor. Coming up. So, we're gonna correct that. We're gonna make sure that never happens again. This post was pretty beat up but uh pretty much these two screws, one on that side, one on that side. If you really wanted to you could put some kind of weather sealer up under it but I think we'll be good without it. Now I used to use another kind but it was plastic and I would just tear it up you know after a year but this is like galvanized steel I believe, I don't think it's gonna... So those of you with wooden posts, either your mailbox post or fence posts you know that you weed whack around those and when you weed whack around those you're hitting the wood, you’re taking chunks out of the wood and you're actually creating a problem for yourself right so either you don't weed whack well around your post or you just go in hard and you just hope for the best that you're not going to destroy your post well Fence Armor now makes this exactly what it is. It's an armor that you put around the bottom of the posts and it's made of this metal here and it's powder coated and it's beautiful you can get it in all different colors and all that and you put that right around your post so I’m gonna do that on my mailbox which is a challenge I've had this is gonna solve it. So that last thing I am going to be doing for these boxes is going through and applying a product called Fence Armor, this is just a small low-profile metal bracket that slips onto the bottom of the post to protect it from getting eaten up from a weed eater. It connects to the post with just one simple screw and this way we can come through here and not worry about the wood on the post boxes getting chewed up over time. You don't want it directly on the ground. I feel like that would hold water and you're not gonna be weed eating this low anyway so you want it probably about where you would hit your string at probably an inch up that way you could hit two to three inches on it so I figured I'd show you guys this, just a quick little product you can put on mailboxes, anything. Now another neat feature of them is there design there so when you have the two halves together and you're mounting your screws on the two sides there, so that slotted design allows for expansion and contraction in the wood during temperature changes and the corners aren't completely square they've got a nice round edge so that when you're trimming against them it's not destroying your trimmer line and breaking off pieces it allows the trimmer line just to sort of glide over that area there. So, as you guys can see, it is extremely easy to install anybody can do this they make it simple. From a commercial point of view it would be phenomenal, all the years I've been doing this business I've seen so many fence posts destroyed from trimmer string even stuff as small as point 0.85 or 0.95 which is typical at 90% everybody uses I've seen it demolish string. I've had employees that have just wrecked people's fences, mailbox posts, I've wrecked my own fair share without a doubt. So, this definitely takes care of that. Couple things to note from this test, first of all just a slight bit of powder on this plate but when wiped off no obvious signs of damage, so I would have to say that concludes these things are built to last. These guys actually really support the community. They comment on everybody's videos and they're really nice folks, Stephanie, Al, the rest of the team. Actually saw them at GIE last year, super nice people, will do anything for you kind of people and their little invention here is Fence Armor, so, fence post protectors. But I will tell you this, the people over at Fence Armor are awesome people, they take care of you, you message them, you email them, they respond like that. I'm a big believer in Fence Armor products, so much so I used them to protect my vinyl fences at Petty's Garage and my home. It's a strong product that's built to last. Fence Armor is Richard Petty approved.

I swear by Fence Armor, this stuff's amazing it does nothing but create longevity on your posts you don't have to worry about your trimmers you don't have to worry about pesky landscapers from commercial properties coming by and cutting your posts down without you even knowing. So so Andy what what made you want to find a solution for that? I wanted to be different I wanted to be above everybody else and when we build things we do it once and once only this product adds to that philosophy. Well with our customers, it has given us another great option to get them to protect the length of their fence that they are paying a lot of money for and it's just been an absolutely great product. How we came in touch with the product was the customer here we had already sold the fence itself so the customer comes to us and says well how can we protect our investment on this project but also they already had a mile of existing pvc fence here we'll take some pictures and show some video of some of the existing uh posts that are already here and it’s eight years old and uh half of the posts are already gone from weed whackers he has a company come in and I'm sure that they do the best that they can but over time no matter what the weed whacker is going to go through so I thought about the product that I had seen in the World Fence News which was Fence Armor which can save his existing product and help his investment on this project so that's what we're going to. Try to tap in and find a product that protected the post, customers were always asking can we do extra concrete can we do extra this, so let's just kill that and get to the problem and that's where I found Al at Fence Armor and it's been great ever since 99% of customers are going with it it's protecting from above ground and now below ground with the Postsaver. Well with a company like Fence Armor at the bottom of the post would definitely keep the weed whacker from hitting the wood itself. Hey guys Ian Robson here with Davis Fencing, we're using the Fence Armor today on our new fence post that we're putting in, installing, setting them three inches off the bottom of the ground for uh lawn maintenance and protection of the post and uh the same galvanized steel we use for our fence hangers so nothing rusts it's good for moisture and uh great product to use for sure on your fence and we trust it the best defense for your fence. Got these in today from Fence Armor, this is cool man I mean these guys are on top of it these are um galvanized steel caps that will fit about any wood posts you can dream of it's enough uh like a four by four you know there's oftentimes they're different three and five eights three and a half three and three eighths three and three quarters they even fit a vinyl post so these tops are interchangeable this is galvanized steel with this adjustable claw on the inside no screws stainless steel claw when you push that down on the post it locks on there so super simple slide on the post done deal you can have a point on it or none so here's the cap with no point on it you can order the finials to go on top so you have different options this video is kind of cool because you can put a flag in that like an American flag or something for the holidays you can slide those little little bitty wood wood stake flags in there and display them on top of your fence definitely pretty uh definitely awesome check them out Fence Armor.
