A string trimmer, also known as a weed whacker, is a tool that uses a flexible filament to cut grass. Invented by George Ballas of Houston, Texas in the early seventies, the idea was conceived while watching the cleaning brushes in a car wash. Those brushes in fact, scored a car's finish. The damage was insidious caused by a repeated use over time, much like the damage caused by a power trimmer. To your posts. With the weed whacker being a staple in modern day landscaping, the engineering team at Fence Armor got to work, determined to create a strong North American made solution. The goal was to provide a simple, quality engineered product at a modest price. It needed to work for all types and sizes of post. It needed to be strong and long lasting, and it needed to look great. Every detail was considered. Fence Armor is made of galvanized steel, not aluminum or plastic, as they are too soft and fallible. Even the design of the fastener holes allowed for expansion and contraction of the post over time.
The patented design even encompasses a perfectly engineered corner radii, which increases its strength while also decreasing breakage of your trimmer line, enhance the beauty of your garden scapes and prolong the life of your fences.

Years ago, we decided that there was a problem. And as an engineering company, what we do is fix problems. One of the issues that I personally had was a beautiful cedar fence. And watching that fence every year, getting decimated by my landscapers drove me to a point where I needed to find the solution to the issue of beating my fence posts. And then I started looking around my neighborhood, and I started seeing more and more posts being damaged. And I wondered, why isn't there a solution for this? In looking at it and realizing that we have this problem as an engineering company, we came at it from a completely different aspect. Galvanized steel is 100% recyclable. It's abundant. It's made in America. And we were really keying in on steel based on all of the geometries and chemistries of the posts we were working with. As nice as galvanized steel is, it gives a nice silver look. We also have our decorative series, which allows us to put wood grain and different patriotic editions or different pictures on the actual product. Although it's a $9 billion industry, new fences going up in North America, the reality is most of the fences are already in place. And how do we get those posts protected? Well, a two piece design handles that. The other reason for a two piece design. It allows you to pick maybe white for your side of the fence, and your neighbor could pick a different color for his side of the fence. My business partner and I decided, you know what? There is a market for this. And we started to study it and understand it better, immerse ourselves in that industry. And we built Fence Armor.

Hi, I'm Al Martins from Fence Armor and we're going to talk about what Fence Armor is about. Why are you here on our page? Fence Armor is a product that protects posts from weed whackers. So it can be any kind of post, it can be a fence post, it can be a gate post, it can be a signpost, a gazebo, whatever posts that's in the ground that faces the front end of a weed whacker, that's what you want to protect. Fence Armor is made of 100% galvanized steel and then we powder coat some of them so that they look pretty. But the baseline is they're all 100% galvanized steel. It's American or North American steel, high quality and a very strong gauge. At 22 gauge, it's resilient to any weed whacker you'll put up against it and you can see that from our reviews.

Here at Fence Armor, we’re an engineering company. I know sometimes that might sound like a misnomer; fencing, fence protection and engineering, but the realities are you can’t have one without the other. In looking at the problem of protecting posts, we started to analyze it and realize that there were many reasons to do it. Just like Rhinoceros’ and Beetle’s and other animals have a tough shell to be able to handle the abrasions that they may face during the day, we realize that fence posts, whether they are made out of vinyl or they’re made out of ornamental, or wood, they are faced with active attacks on a daily basis. Certainly from lawn equipment, if your fence has any grass near it and you decide that you want to trim it and make it look nice, then you are going to use either an old fashioned sheer, which is probably not in anybodies garage anymore, or you are going to use a full on trimmer, whether it is electric or gas. They spin at least 7500 RPM and they have some pretty interesting and gnarly filament and that filament, once it starts spinning around, well it can do a real, a real mess on your post. Like you can see a little bit here, how quickly they get damaged and in fact if you go outside, you’ll notice if you look at the bottom of posts, how damaged they do get. So in analyzing this, we engineered a product that we believe is the best on the market today. We focused on being environmentally friendly, we focused certainly on the biomimicry of the product and realizing that these were important pieces in two elements, one of course if we imitate nature then were going to be closer to the reality of what we are looking for and that is pleasing to the eye. The other thing is in protecting your posts, you are protecting the environment. If you don’t have to replace your fence as often then by all logic you’re protecting the resources you have and that we all share here on the earth. So in analyzing that, we looked at different kinds of materials and we could have went with plastic, we could have went with aluminum; potentially some other resins and so forth but we found that the most recyclable material is steel. It is also the strongest. Aluminum will degrade, it will oxidize and certainly, if you take a weed whacker to it, you will start to see very quickly how the finish mars and how you eat through this soft aluminum. Which is what it is, it is light and soft. Plastics are no different, that’s why we protect vinyl posts or PVC posts because they are plastic and no matter what kind of UV protection you have, there are microns thin and as soon as you shave away that UV protection, you start to eat away at the plastic, the sun eats through it and you’ll see that yourself. If you have a tarp in your backyard covering a boat or covering some things, you’ll notice that after a couple of years how that plastic tarp almost fades away to nothing and starts to erode. So galvanized steel is a, is a great solution to that problem. It allows us to bend it and position it in ways that will enable us to cover your posts with a very thin solution, but strong enough to manage the protection around the post. So, we’re made of 100% American Galvanized Steel and that’s important. We don’t use anything off-shore, we’re not looking for cheap solutions. We are looking for effective, engineered products that will help you protect your investment. Every product is stamped with Fence Armor. It is designed with a radius here on the corner for a couple of reasons. Obviously it stiffens the product and secondly, its really easy on your filaments. So if you are a landscaper and you are wondering well, what it’s going to do to my filament, well it's going to roll right across here. We have done all kinds of tests with different RPM’s of different filaments cutting across here and inevitably all of them just bounce across the radius and deflect off the product. So it obviously saves on the galv but it is also great on your trimmer. On the side here you will notice there is a slot and the reason for that slot is when you put this on a piece of lumber or vinyl post, you’ll see how that allows the product to flex and the reason we allow it to move is because wood when it gets wet, will swell. When it swells, we need a place to move. We don’t want that fastener in there ripping at the fibres of the wood and vinyl is no different. Vinyl in fact doesn’t swell because it gets wet, but it gets hot and if you get out to a vinyl fence; white is not so bad but as they get darker, you’ll see how hot they are and they physically expand. So you need something that is going to be able to protect it at the bottom so you are able to have the Fence Armor flex back and forth with the heat, in contractions of your vinyl fence. When you’re getting a new fence or you’re talking to your landscaper, ask for Fence Armor by name because we are the best defence for your fence. Thanks for listening! *claps* Well thank you ladies. I appreciate the compliments.

Hi I'm Al Martins, this video is about full protection. Again we have our standard series which is three inches high and we have our Pro Series which is six inches high, all full protection which means of course when you buy it you get a pair and if you encapsulate that post you now get 360 degree coverage. It covers the entire post if you're using both sides, same thing of course with the three inch version if you cover both sides you've covered the whole post, so full protection the idea is to cover both sides.

Hi I'm Al Martins, we're going to talk about the difference between the Pro Series and our standard series of Fence Armor. They're exactly the same material they're exactly the same strength, the difference is the height. So our Pro Series is six inches high and our standard series is three inches high so depending on if you have an existing post and there’s a lot of damage on it already and you want to cover it because it's just going to look better, that curb appeal is going to go up. Or your landscaper is just up and down that post and doesn't know where the ground line is then you want to go with the Pro Series, again comes in two halves but it is six inches high. Our standard series is three inches high and also comes in two halves.

Hi I'm Al Martins this is a little less casual video but I want to talk about our Fence Armor screws these aren't just any screws we had these screws specifically made for us with Pittsburgh steel, they're not made in China. One of two or three manufacturing companies left in all of North America that are still producing screws so we had these made and you'll notice they're powder coated to match so if you get Black you get White you get Almond you get Clay whatever the color is in this case Redwood you'll be able to match that powder coat and you can see how it fits in there and looks great. Here you'll see it in the galv and you're going to say what's that other hole there Al. Is that a defect? No we stuck that there on purpose just to show you at the tip of our screws it looks like a self-tapping tip which it is but it's also known as a drill so it's a drill bit that's cut into here which allows you if you had a scenario where you had to adjust Fence Armor to let's say fit into another piece of Fence Armor for overlapping you could actually drill through the Fence Armor with the tip with the same bit and then of course go straight into your substrate so that drill bit is used of course primarily for vinyl and pvc application so you don't have to pre-drill it because otherwise it'll create a burr but with our fasteners you'll be able to drill and then thread it right in. You'll notice too the head is quite magnificent it's what they call a quadrex head a quadrex head allows you to use a square or also known as a robertson bit which is preferred by contractors it's more secure or you can use a standard phillips bit to drive your fasteners in you'll also notice that the thread goes straight up to the head which allows perfect application for composite or vinyl or pvc style fences where you have a very thin wall potentially and you need to get drive it right up to the head. So those are Fence Armor screws, perfect application for our products or any other areas where you need a shallow depth pre-drill screw.

Hi guys, I'm Al Martins from Fence Armor. I just wanted to share with you a product that we refer to as 6 by 6 vinyl. The "V" just really means it's dimensional. This product measures 6 inches across, and of course if you put them together like this, they will be 6 inches in the opposite direction. So 6 by 6. But you'll notice as you squeeze them together like an accordion, you can get your 4 inches right there. So now you've got 4 by 6, and if your wood is fluctuated a little bit of course, it slides. So it does not have to be, exactly true. You place a fastener here on the face, you place another one on this face, you place at the level you want on your post, and you got yourself a 6 by 4 piece of Fence Armor. Thank you.

Hey guys glad to be here again! If you caught me live last week I was here at this condo association - 136 posts. Years ago they saw the damage on their vinyl fence they were probably one of the first in the area to get any vinyl fences and as you can see it's kind of a darker color, like a Clay. So they came up with a homemade solution of aluminum flashing which really got beat up and you can see some pictures of that. They found us and called us right away and said "hey I really like your Fence Armor, do you have anything in clay?" and as you can see in some of the shots you'll see that the Clay edition looks great. We got custom screws painted on the heads in clay as well, so that's an option that is definitely doable it's a little more expensive but if you want the screws looking exactly like your Fence Armor there isn't really anything we can't we can't match so they decided to do that. We also are using the Pro Series here. The Pro Series is six inches high as opposed to the regular three-inch. Their landscapers tend to be a little more aggressive so they wanted to have that little extra protection on the posts. It's getting a little hot so I wanted to get on the camera before I started sweating. All right, we'll be checking in with you again soon. Ciao! All right, as Stephy would call you peeps apparently. Yeah job is done believe it or not. It's taking a little while, great community, great people to work with. They're really happy with their Fence Armor we put in. Even Steph was helpful. Have to say, it was nice for her to feel part of the outside crew and I think she has a little more sympathy for all of you guys, out there all day. Me, I think I swallowed a couple of bugs and they went to the back of my throat. But I think that has happened to most of you. Anyway, yeah we're gonna sign off, we're gonna get some Portuguese chicken and enjoy our evening and jump in the pool. I think we're really hot here today. So signing off from Fence Armor. Somewhere here or here as Stephanie would tell me, subscribe and like, please we really appreciate your support. Good Job! Fence Armor is the best defence for your fence.

What do we do if there's no fence and now the post is exposed on all four sides? Well the geniuses at Fence Armor figured it out and they have the UNI™ right now which is completely universal, like this four piece it's completely adjustable from 3.5" to 6.5". That's right so here we have a wood post here right now this is a treated post I have a tape measure and I'll just show you guys that this post is 5 3/8" from side to side with a round corner and so we can take this Fence Armor protection plate let's put Fence Armor up and install these and we can slide it around this post. There's a slot in here, we want the slot to fall behind the outside channel so that you don't see so much of that slot. Okay I'm going to install this now, just that simple. You would adjust the height about an inch off the ground you would install your first screw here and then work your way around the post installing the following screws here. We are here with a sign in the park this particular sign has a concrete paddle around it but that's not always the case sometimes there'll be grass around me. I'm going to take a measurement of this and with the same UNI™ I have in my hand to fit the 5 3/8" down there this one right here measures exactly four inches with a sharp 90 degree turn corner in it. Okay so same thing we'll take the UNI™ spread it out to where it fits behind and in this case we would install this an inch off the ground off the grass off the soil, fits very nice around that post it was really easy, put your self tappers in there and screw it together. We have a tape measure here we're going to measure that this is 3.5" so this is the smallest that this UNI™ would fit a 3.5" now I have with me the six inch tall so again this comes standard in White, Black and Galvanized that's what this one is but I'm going to show you the six inch tall version of this right now. Now again hide the slots behind the plate that looks very nice, trimming it out with a six inch tall piece. Remember to keep about an inch up off the ground right about there get those screws installed in there and now that post is definitely protected from the trimmers and from anything else that might be damaging that post at the bottom.
Video Transcript
Now what do we do here. Here we've got three pieces of wood intersecting at each other, got this piece here we've got this piece here on the rock wall and we got the supporting seat behind so the two points of interest are here and here so what I would say is use a Fence Armor UNI™ in this case because you again set it at an angle and you'll have what you're looking for there to protect that corner so the UNI™ is a very Universal product to handle situations similar to this and of course for the regular lumber so now you've got that corner handled.

Hi I'm Al Martins today this video we're talking about Fence Armor Round Protection, our round series comes in two different versions beyond the colors you can get it powder coated. Same galvanized steel but our round is obviously designed for round posts and you can see from the slots and the keys that we have an opportunity to adjust because round posts aren't perfect that might be five inches it might be six and a half they might be tapered so the idea behind it is of course you would surround your post with Fence Armor. It’s about five inches high and then you would lock it down with those three hole positions and now you'd have your post perfectly protected again from the weed whackers or lawn equipment or other things even animals oftentimes people use our round series on the top of the post as well to protect from horse cribbing it gives it a nice look to all of them, galvanized steel powder coated to look great and adjustable so that you can fit any size post.
Video Transcript
With round Fence Armor, our FA5x22 like all Fence Armor we recommend that you set it off the ground about an inch, inch and a half. You can use a block of wood so that you can keep them consistent if you've got a whole length of field to do so that it's accurate. When you're setting it in set the center screw in about halfway so that it is started into the into the wood or vinyl and this way it'll protrude a little bit and the back half of the Fence Armor will be able to slide underneath so that you can adjust it to the exact post diameter. This will adjust from five inches all the way up to six and three-quarters. You can squeeze it further if you like but you'd have to add some additional holes. Match up the the holes or slots on the top and then you can tighten all three but as you're squeezing them together tighten in the the center one so that its snug and now you can match up the two other screws on the top and the bottom and now all three screws will hold it in perfectly.

I've been with Log Cabin Fence for 30-35 years. We're in Southwestern Pennsylvania. We do a lot of agricultural and residential fencing, we do some commercial. Majority of the residential we do is a split-rail fence and in time with the weed whacking they do chip up the bottom of the post. Well with a coating like Fence Armor at the bottom of the posts would definitely keep the weed whacker from hitting the wood itself. We use a lot of Southern Yellow Pine and the Pine is a softer grade of wood because the treatment issues so it does chip easier with the weed whacker and when you put the Fence Armor on I like to keep about an inch and a half off the ground. The main reason being is as the post deteriorates it's gonna be right at ground level because that's where you get the most air and water concentrated, so if you leave it off the ground just about an inch and a half or so that's gonna let air get through there and get rid of all the moisture. Well the Fence Armor on the post generally a horse will crib where they can get to it if you have a board at the very top or electric at the top, if they can't get to the top of a post they'll go to the bottom of the post where the Fence Armor sure will help curb some of the cribbing because they can't chew through the metal.

Hi I'm Al Martins this video is about Fence Armor Ornamental. Fence Armor Ornamental is designed to fit on ornamental fences whether they be aluminum or steel. You’ll notice there's no holes for screws or fasteners the idea behind that is we didn't want you drilling into your metal fence so the clips on the side here just snap right on you hear that click that tells you you've got your post protected we also have a Demi series of this version for selected markets.
Video Transcript
Hi I'm Al Martins welcome to our YouTube channel. Today we want to talk about Demi's. I get a lot of questions about that. I also get a lot of questions about where do I set them? Where do I put the three inch high version of Fence Armor? It's only three inches high, do I set it on the ground? Do I set it above? And we're out here by a fence so I can share that with you. If we drop down here we can have a look and see this Demi's been here for about seven years so you can see the redwood version is really looking great. If I rub it here you can see the line that's being used is actually white, a white line and they stained the fence they forgot to take off the Fence Armor in the meantime but this is a couple of things you're seeing here. One is the height isn't right on the ground. We want to put the height at the center line of the weed whacker so when the weed whacker is coming along here it's just getting the top of that so you want to put it right in the middle so usually that's about an inch, inch and a half, sometimes half an inch. Depends on if you cut your grass to two inches high or to three inches high or two and a half. You'll notice the reason for the Demi here too is because this rail, I keep talking about a rail, well a fence is made up of different parts, that's a post, that's a rail and these are pickets and those are basically the elements needed on any fence. If you know what those are then you'll know that bottom rail and then there's a top rail up at the top so in this area where do I put my Fence Armor? You place it right at the center line of that weed whacker and you'll be dead on every time, it also gives an element where your landscaper knows where to put his weed whacker. Not like that but right where the center line is and also you know that, that Demi is designed with that shallow depth so it doesn't hit that rail, the interference is protected. So, that's what... how to install Fence Armor, on a uh, with a Demi and the right height. Hopefully that's clear, we'd love you to to like and subscribe to our channel on one of these two things over here. Stephanie will point you in the right direction, thank you for watching.
Video Transcript
I'm Al Martins this video is about Demi Protection if you don't need your whole post covered you're just looking to protect the face of the post we've created our Demi Protection it has a small relief on the side covers the front face it still has our patented radius which will deflect the filament but this might be just enough to protect the posts you have. This is very traditional on a privacy fence so that bottom rail if it's really tight near the bottom you might not get a full piece in, the other great idea beyond this is the ability to create corners so once you come into an outside or an inside corner if you take two pieces of our Demi and they again they're sold in pairs you can now create that corner which will look perfect and prevent that corner situation.

Hi everyone Al Martins from Fence Armor great to be with you all again. What is the number one question we get at Fence Armor? Well as you can tell I'm here at a playset and yes I did major in gymnastics but I'm not going to be doing it on this set today. Playsets are interesting and what makes them interesting is they're all like snowflakes every one of them is different you buy them at your big box stores Home Depot, Lowe's whichever store you go to most of them are sourced sadly from offshore so the lumber sizes aren't what you would expect. Typically they are not traditional 6X6 or 4X4, there’s some other mill thing that they've decided to do in that overseas factory and now you're struggling to figure out how to protect the bottom of those posts both on the the swing and on the the main stage of your set. What do you do? Well think of Fence Armor as lego we've got all kinds of different blocks, we have all kinds of different sizes colors and arrangements to work with your playset so it isn't just an automatic thing. “I've got a playset, can you protect it?” “What do I need?” “We need your help.” So this video the hope is I can show you the pieces of Fence Armor that would fit this particular set and hopefully inspire you on the things you need to do to measure and check and validate what pieces of Fence Armor you need from our website, pick them out and then have that brought to your home shipped and installed on your playset so you can still get years out of it and it's not going to look like it's been chewed up by beavers. So that is what today's video is all about stay tuned we'll get down to to the ground here in a minute and look at the these posts in in more detail. All right so the key here on this particular on all sets you've got to measure the lumber now this is really unusual lumber as I spoke about earlier um basically we're talking about 7/8" and if we look across here we're talking what is that 3 1/4" about 3 3/8" so 3 3/8" by 7/8" is not lumber you're going to find at Home Depot or Lowe's but with Fence Armor we can certainly help so this is our Redwood Edition um black galvanized would work whatever you're looking at but this is our Demi or also known as Privacy Fence so the reason for that is it covers the face and the radius you'll notice there's a couple of slots under holes on the side and on the face so what do we need to do for that well this is the 3.5x3.x5 version and it'll fit in here with the radiuses that's 3 3/8" so we can accommodate that so what I'll do is you'll notice I'll put one here uh and I'll put one on the opposite side and you'll see really that covers that up pretty nicely and I'm going to put it up about a half inch off the ground in this particular case now the other thing you have to keep in mind is you know the screws, screws are three quarter inch long the Fence Armor is about five eighths or I should say about uh forty thou thick so we're gonna be in a case where we're just almost breaking through the other side so you've got to be careful with that if your wood is really thin like this you may want to consider picking up some shallow screws and you may find that you want to put it in by hand with a case of where your lumber is really thin like this and that's just right of course the other option is you could come in on this face also and that way you wouldn't have to worry so much about the depth but I'm going to try and get it on the other side and again that's only for cases where you really have thin lumber and you'll notice these screws are also color matching your Fence Armor Pittsburgh steel powder coated. Beauty, now that post isn't going to get beat up anymore by that weed whacker now you can weed whack away without worrying about damaging your posts. If your posts are really damaged like these were you may want to stain them before or paint them so that that wounded area won't get damaged now we've got a combination two pieces of wood that measures inch and three quarter that face from here to here at an angle is three and three eighths so what you may want to consider here is a Demi again for this application now if you tried to put a Demi here you're going to see that this area here is curved and it's not going to manage to protect that now going to look right over here on this one we have to put it at an angle and that'll work over here you can see how you can set Fence Armor at an angle. So what I'll do is I'll put that one in on this side first here we have that case with the Demi so you can see the Demi will fit nicely over this side but it's not going to fit here so this is where I say you need a persuader we were down in the Grand Canyon taking the mules they gave us a persuader to get those mules going in the direction we wanted to so our persuader is a rubber mallet and I just want to flatten this side so I'm going to put a little rag over it and and I'm going to flatten that side out now you notice this side is over the edge here so I didn't flatten that but I was able to flatten this without any issue and as you can see the powder coating had no issues with that at all so now that you've got that in the shape you want to put that over there and fasten it custom Fence Armor there you go this case we could use again a Demi a pair and what we would do there is flatten both sides to be able to achieve that corner right so if you take two Demi's and you and you do that you have a corner but when you get into here you'll notice that these two outer edges need to be persuaded flat so that's a solution you can have there or or you can use our new Fence Armor UNI™ for Universal Uni so if we take this and we marry them up you end up creating one full side or because you get four of these in a package you can use it just for the corner and now you've got a corner that fits perfect on your side so the Fence Armor UNI™ is another option to manage corners as we have in this case so you don't need to use that persuader in that case but on this side because the wood was so thin we needed to to manage that way a UNI™ wouldn't fit there. Doesn’t have to be over torqued and then anywhere along the slide and there you go there you've got that UNI™ protection in place. We'll say 7/8" by by 3 is up against what you would think is a 2x4 but no way it's one and 1 3/8" so the combined distance is two inches here with those two so what you could do here again is use a Demi on either side on the back side you could use a full-on Demi here and then on this side we'd flatten one I like to put a rag over it just so it doesn't matter up so that's nice and straight let's put this over here and now you've got that corner so that'll handle that side the key is the weed whacker it eats the corners and it'll whip around the face and Fence Armor because of the radius deflects the filament so that it's going to walk right past that area it's not going to really get damaged the next point of interest are these uh legs different angles we do make a rock wall version that covers the whole face and that's for the Home Depot La Chateau kit and if you need that we've got those in stock and we can ship them to you in black and they'll protect that whole entire face in this case again it's uh unknown angle yours will be an unknown angle you can certainly calculate that but it doesn't really matter not so much the important thing here is looking at the area you want to protect and you can see like I said earlier the weed whacker hits the corner and that's where it digs in that's where the filament likes to bite and that's where you get this damage so what you want to do is look at that distance and in this case it's about four inches the combined distance with that face board and the backboard here so you would order a four inch Demi that would do the trick so this four inch now will handle that face right there and it it just fits perfectly there uh so that happens to be a perfect fit now you may want to get Pro Series which is a little bit taller or you can stack two of these and you’ll get what you want just like new and if you wanted to stack one put another one on top and now you'd have a stacked series and if I had wood coming all the way up here that's probably what I would do. Now what do we do here um here we've got three pieces of wood intersecting at each other got this piece here we've got this piece here we got the supporting so the two posts of interest are here and here that's our damage again so what I would say is use a Fence Armor UNI™ in this case because you again set it at an angle and you'll have what you're looking for there to protect that corner. So the UNI™ is a very universal product to handle situations similar to this and of course for the regular lumber so now you've got that corner handled this one back here but this one back here only needs one Demi because the weed whacker can't get to the back side so that's another situation you don't always have to use them in pairs you can use them as you need them I know this is making a long video but your play-centre is worth it. You always want to make sure that the screw doesn't pierce the other side you don't want to hurt anybody if it does you'll have to cut it off or grind it so make sure it doesn't pierce the other side and most common you're probably not going to have this thin lumber anyway but just now this particular swing set has you can see here a fastener to lock it down to the to the ground here so it doesn't blow away in this case you have a couple of options one you can put it above that fastener location so that your Fence Armor is up here or you can put it below and drill a hole in the Fence Armor. So I think for this application I'm just going to put it above for now and we'll let the homeowner decide if he wants to drill a hole in it later because this will be this will be here I could actually maybe come down a little bit further, I'm thinking about lunch, and then of course they don't have to be right parallel with each other you want to bring the other one down you can bring the other one down. Beauty and then we've got one more leg and this leg is the same condition where there's an anchor, great and then on the other side just above that anchor so he can re reposition that. Again you you can stack them so what I would do here Personally I would put another Demi here and then drill through it and then fasten my anchors. Guys, so this is the wrap up and effectively what you see here is a playset now and it's got Fence Armor on it one corner two corners got the Fence Armor UNI™ another corner got a 4x4 Demi dimensional the other's got 4x4 nominal Fence Armor which is 3.5x3.5 Demi’s so in fact this whole set was done with the one, two, three, four, five Demi’s and one UNI™ and that did the entire playset so it's not a big expense to protect it so that that your playset will last for years and not end up getting damaged by the weed whackers well worth it mention it to your landscaper if you've got a landscaper tell them to call Fence Armor let him do the measurements let him do all the work and we'll send him the Fence Armor he needs just gotta measure the wood and again I can't over emphasize the magic of a measuring tape and this looks like a 2x4 but if you look at it again that's nowhere near two by four right that's one and and a quarter, I'll take it this way three and a quarter so our Demi’s will will accommodate that so he would use a 3.5x3.5 Demi which we have here and you'll see that that covers that section I would stack another one here and it would cover the bottom so that anchors here over here we have the Fence Armor UNI™ and that Fence Armor UNI™ comes in four pieces to make one full set but in this case we needed one here and one here you'd have a couple to spare but they're perfect for sheds for playsets anywhere you have a corner it's a great application for it and then back on on this side we were able to flatten one side of the Demi so that you were able to use this radius to protect the side but this side is just protecting the flat side so don't forget to use your persuader or rubber mallet like we did here as well to get over on that side. So thank you for watching really appreciate uh you watching this on playsets I hope it makes a lot of sense to you if you're buying one and you're spending a few thousand dollars on a playset or you bought one used and it's damaged it's always worth staining it or painting it before you put on the Fence Armor so that that wounded area is protected and it'll stay together for years and look great. Oh yes please like and subscribe hit the buttons as you see fit thank you don't forget to find Fence Armor at fencearmor.com or look for a local dealer near you and always ask your landscaper and or fencer or whoever's putting in your playset um to protect it with Fence Armor.

And the Demi product effectively has a shallow depth and what that means really is if you have a fence with a bottom rail that's real tight this will just cover the front face and the sides along the bottom so you don't have to worry about it it's also real handy for corners so for instance if you had a condition where you had a corner you wanted to manage so here you have one side this happens to be almond and clay but you get the idea we can now put this one on this side and now you've got a 90-degree corner so in fact you can have two-sided or you can even have three sided protection they're the only ones in the market that allow you to have that kind of versatility not only in different colors but so many sides you want to protect based on the condition you've got.

Hi everyone Al Martins from Fence Armor great to be with you all again what is the number one question we get at Fence Armor well as you can tell I'm here at a playset and yes I did major in gymnastics but I'm not going to be doing it on this set today. Playsets are interesting and what makes them interesting is they're all like snowflakes every one of them is different you buy them at your big box stores Home Depot Lowe's whichever store you go to most of them are sourced sadly from offshore so the lumber sizes aren't what you would expect typically they are not traditional six by sixes or four by fours there's some other mill thing that they've decided to do in that overseas factory and now you're struggling to figure out how to protect the bottom of those posts both on the the swing and on the the main stage of your set what do you do well think of Fence Armor as lego we've got all kinds of different blocks we have all kinds of different sizes colors and arrangements to work with your playset so it isn't just an automatic thing I've got a place that can you protect it what do I need we need your help so this video the hope is I can show you the pieces of Fence Armor that would fit this particular set and hopefully inspire you on the things you need to do to measure and check and validate what pieces of Fence Armor you need from our website pick them out and then have that brought to your home shipped and installed on your playset so you can still get years out of it and it's not going to look like it's been chewed up by beavers so that is what today's video is all about stay tuned we'll get down to to the ground here in a minute and look at the these posts in in more detail all right so the key here on this particular on all sets you've got to measure the lumber now this is really unusual lumber as I spoke about earlier um basically we're talking about seven eighths and if we look across here we're talking what is that three and a quarter about three and three eighths so three and three eighths by 7 8 is not lumber you're going to find at Home Depot or Lowe's but with Fence Armor we can certainly help so this is our Redwood Edition um black galvanized would work whatever you're looking at but this is our Demi or also known as privacy fence so the reason for that is it covers the face and the radius you'll notice there's a couple of slots under holes on the side and on the face so what do we need to do for that well this is the three and a half by three and a half version and it'll fit in here with the radiuses that's three and three eighths so we can accommodate that so what I'll do is I'll you'll notice I'll put one here uh and I'll put one on the opposite side and you'll see really that covers that up pretty nicely and I'm going to put it up about a half inch off the ground in this particular case now the other thing you have to keep in mind is you know the screws screws are three quarter inch long the Fence Armor is about five eighths or I should say about uh forty thou thick so we're gonna be in a case where we're just almost breaking through the other side so you've got to be careful with that if your wood is really thin like this you may want to consider picking up some shallow screws and you may find that you want to put it in by hand with a case of where your lumber is really thin like this and that's just right of course the other option is you could come in on this face also and that way you wouldn't have to worry so much about the depth but I'm going to try and get it on the other side and again that's only for cases where you really have thin lumber and you'll notice these screws are also color matching your Fence Armor Pittsburgh steel powder coated beauty now that post isn't going to get beat up anymore by that weed whacker now you can weed whack away without worrying about damaging your posts. So the last thing I am going to be doing for these boxes is going through and applying a product called Fence Armor. This is just a small, low profile, metal bracket that slips onto the bottom of the post to protect it from getting eaten up from a weed eater. It connects to the post with just one simple screw and this way we can come through here and not worry about the wood on the post boxes getting chewed up over time. Now of course I went with Brown, since I have a brown stain on mine, but they do come in all different sorts of styles and colors. So if you are interested I will leave you a link below.
